Prices 2015
As you may have noticed, Marindex has made no significant changes to most prices for 2015. Only the occasional price increases have been passed on.
The
rise of the dollar over the past 12 months has, however, been so drastic that several manufacturers have had to increase their prices.
On the right, you can see the trend over the past year. The difference is more than
15%. This means that for the products we source from the Far East, we now have to pay an average of 15% more because they are always priced in dollars. In addition to the higher product prices, we also face increased shipping costs, which are also charged in dollars. You understand that this, at least partly, must be passed on in the price we charge you.
Graph of the exchange rate: dollars versus euros.

In April 2014, the Euro was worth $1.40; now the same Euro is worth $1.13.
In short, the dollar has become more expensive, and so have products from the Far East.
In particular, the prices of pans, cutlery, and most serving items are affected. Marindex finds it necessary to increase the prices of some products but will limit this increase to no more than 10% in 2015 AND will do so gradually AND only once our old stock has been depleted.
